During your initial consultation we will also discuss with you aspects of your lifestyle to ensure your toupee and it’s maintenance regime fits within that. We either use adhesive hair tape, which typically lasts 2-4 weeks or hair glue, lasting up to 6 weeks.
It’s important to know what time frame works best for you, as after these respective times pass we will thoroughly clean your your system, and clean your scalp. This not only extends the life time of your system but protects your skin and ensure your comfortability.

What is a hair system?
Here at Head of Hair, our hair system is created using 100% genuine human hair which is then hand-woven onto lace. The base of the system is then adhered to your head with the preferred method of attachment (tape or adhesive), and cut and blended to make it undetectable.
Can I shower with my hair system?
Yes! You can treat your hair system as if it were your own head of hair.
The one instance you will have to bear on the side of caution is swimming in chlorinated swimming pools. If you are regularly swimming in chlorinated pools, this can cause dryness in the hair of your system, especially if your particular system has thinner hair. However this can be easily accommodated.
How does a hair system stay on?
When it comes to choosing how you adhere your hair system, there are two main options we offer -hair system tape, or liquid adhesive. To determine which is best for you, we will discuss your maintenance preferences and lifestyle.
Tapes are very forgiving, and cause less wear and tear to your system and for those with sensitivities, usually, tapes are the way to go. However, since the tape is also the easiest to remove, in the long run, it can also come off easier so this is something to consider if you are particularly active.
A reason some choose to go with a liquid adhesive is because of their strength and for their precise attachment. The time to apply a hair system with glue can take longer than tape due to drying times, however, the time between visits for maintenance can also be left longer due to the strength of the adhesive.
